We found the students needed very supportive
environment in the school
and lot of motivation to develop sense of belongingness. The majority of parents belong to lower
income and lower educational attainment group. Keeping them motivated by periodical engagement is
also extremely important. Bio metric attendance is made compulsory to all the staff both in the
morning and evening. 48 CCTV cameras were installed in all class rooms, open areas, Playgrounds and
Entrance. During my free time I used to go on a round and observe the teaching methods of the
teachers and note down their merits and demerits. Immediately after the Mid-term tests and the
Terminal exam, students’ performance will be analyzed in detail both section wise and teacher wise.
Smart classes are arranged for X, XI and XII STD students. Special Classes are conducted during the
holidays and terminal holidays. Coaching classes are conducted from 3.30 PM to 5 PM daily and snacks
will be served when the coaching class is extended till 6.00PM. It improved academic achievements of
the students.
PTA meetings will be conducted after every terminal examination.
Parents are advised to take care of their children at home. Parents’ suggestions are listened
carefully to improve the school. Parents and class teachers are now connected by phone and WhatsApp.
Play grounds are renovated and children are encouraged to play Basketball, Volley ball, football,
cricket etc. A 10kw Solar Panel was installed in our school during the year 2015. It meets the
entire electricity needs of our school. Ours is the First Govt Aided School in Chennai to have such
facility. Our school auditorium was renovated and we have Scientist Photos, HM’s Photos, Incumbency
Board of Correspondents.
Under the able guidance and periodic visits of management, our school has improved a lot during my
tenure.
